Many people are quietly suffering.
John Switalski, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), brings remarkable maturity, warmth, and real-world experience to his work. He has supported people across a wide range of ages, (adults, kids, teens, parents and couples) from a variety of backgrounds, and challenges, including anxiety, stress, ADHD, neurodivergence, relationships, parenting, emotional overwhelm, and difficult life transitions.
John has a natural ability to make people feel comfortable and understood. His calm, grounded presence makes it easier to talk honestly about what’s really going on, while his practical and thoughtful approach helps turn insight into meaningful change.
He draws from evidence-based approaches including CBT, mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, person-centred, existential, and strengths-based approaches, tailoring therapy to the person rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
John’s clients often share that they feel comfortable with him
quickly, which allows for honest conversations and meaningful
progress in therapy.
He is known for being practical, warm, approachable, and
has a natural ability to meet people where they are, whether that
means helping someone take their first steps in therapy or supporting
deeper, long-standing challenging or sensitive work.
He works particularly well with men, professionals across all genders, and executives who may be used to managing pressure on their own or feeling like they always have to “hold it together.”
Alongside of having much experience in working with adults, John
also has experience working with children and youth (including at risk youth struggling with a variety of challenges) with neurodivergence or behavioral challenges, giving him a well-rounded understanding of how challenges show up
across different stages of life and environments.
He completed his Psychotherapy Degree at Yorkville University and draws from evidence-based approaches including CBT, mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, person centred, existential, and strengths-based approaches, tailoring therapy to the person rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
